Expired Domains Watchlist Jan-25

My expired domain watchlist for Wednesday, January 25th. PoorCreditFinancing.com looks like an obvious choice to me. The stats aren't as good as you'd think but it's a solid name in my opinion.

This list has a lot of good sounding names without the metrics to back them up. No big search volume EMD's in today's list. The calculator domain is but it's soooooo long. It probably requires development and seo. But then again, what doesn't in the drop lists?

The domains will drop between 2pm and 3pm Eastern USA time. If you really want one you should back order it. If it already has back orders you have no choice. Otherwise, wait until 2pm EST and start checking periodically. 50% of these will probably come through the drop and be available for hand registration around 3pm EST. If it's still not available by 3:15pm. You ain't getting it.

Expired Domains List for 1/12/2012

I'm trying something different this time around. Instead of publishing an available domains list after the drop is over, I'm giving you my entire expired domains watch list ahead of time. By doing so, you'll have the option of back ordering a domain that you really want in advance instead of just viewing and hand registering the domains that become available after the drop.

No worries, I still plan on posting the regular lists of unregistered domains but I'd like to start doing more of the pre-drop lists to round things out a bit for the folks that crave the auction competition.

Disclaimer: I don't own the domains in the following list. I'm not trying to sell them. I'm just pointing out that they are dropping tomorrow and are available for backorder. The domains will drop between 2pm and 3pm Eastern USA time.

FindAgedDomains.com: Godaddy Domain Auctions Analyzer

Being an obsessive domainer, I usually test out new domain name related products and websites when they launch. I came across FindAgedDomains.com on Twitter a few days back and exchanged a few emails with the owner Joris De Donder. Joris offered me temporary access to the platform in exchange for an unbiased review. I was also given a discount code, NAMECLERK, to distribute to my readers. The discount code will reduce the monthly membership to $29 or a 3 month membership to $79. For the sake of disclosure, I do not receive any affiliate commissions on signups.

The primary benefit provided by FindAgedDomains.com is the ability to locate and purchase aged domains listed on the Godaddy Closeout Domains Auction platform before they are deleted form the registry. A domains age, determined by it's original registration date, is an important variable in determining a domain's potential value and effectiveness in regards to development. Unlike other drop catching services like Snapnames and Namejet, domains purchased through the Godaddy closeout auctions retain their original registration date because they are never dropped and reset at the registry.

Godaddy's current interface for closeout auctions only provides the domain name, estimated traffic data, and the current price for each listing. You would have to perform manual look-ups for every listing to find the domains age, back links, etc. Even an automated tool like DRT would take a considerable amount of time to look up this data in bulk on a daily basis.

Members at FindAgedDomains.com are able to download sortable daily lists that include the domain name, registration date, back links, PR, domain authority, and mozRank for all Godaddy closeout auctions. Joris told me they are planning to add Alexa and Quantcast data very soon. The lists are presented on a well organized page and are available to download in Excel and CSV format. The CSV format allows you to import the lists into other scripts and programs for further analysis. There are also smaller sub lists that only contain domains with more than 100 back links or are pre-2006 registrations. Below is a screen shot of an Excel file from a list from March 15th.

I performed a spot check on the March 26th list. I searched for 5 of the oldest domains along with a handful of the domains with the highest reported number of back links. All were still available to be purchased at Godaddy with $10 and under buy it now listings.

Overall, I was pretty impressed with the service and the price seems reasonable as well. If aged domains with back links is your thing, you should check it out.

SnapNames: Suggested Domain Names to Back Order

The following list of domain names will be dropping over the next 3 days. I isolated these domains as possible back order candidates during my normal keyword research routine. I chose these names based off the keyword search volume on the the terms that are included in the domains.

The keyword search volume on these terms makes these domains ideal for web development projects. By optimizing the sites based off the domain's keywords, you're likely to get a boost in search engine rankings for that term. Back ordering also prevents the domain's age from being reset which also helps retain the domain's authority from the search engines point of view, particularly Google.

A majority of the domains are .net. Reason being, quality keyword .com's don't drop as often. For your convenience, and to make it worth my time, each domain is linked directly to the SnapNames order page.
