Network Solutions Has No Use for DomainNames.com
Network Solutions is listed as the registrar and registrant of DomainNames.com. Unless I'm experiencing some type of DNS issue, they apparently don't see the need to redirect this domain to NetworkSolutions.com or anywhere else for that matter.
Firefox returns a "page cannot be displayed" error and even more comical, Internet Explorer calls up a Microsoft Live Search page on which, Network Solutions is paying for the #1 sponsored sites position.
Is Network Solutions actually paying for traffic they already own?
UPDATE: DomainNames.com is now pointing to NetworkSolutions.com. I'm guessing they didn't know about this and corrected it. Is a reward in order? Hmmm, didn't think so.

Doesn’t load here either, does seem a big waste of a domain!

No wonder why they charge so much for domain registrations!

Hi, my name is Shashi. I work at Network Solutions. Thank you for pointing this out. You are so right. We’ll get it pointed to the main site ASAP. Much obliged.

How can no one over there realize they have losts hundreads if not thousands of customers.
If that was my company and 1 of my employes done that they would be fired, no problem
That is so funny. I agree with Stevie, they have certainly lost thousands here lol.
Hope they’re going to reward you for your free consulting. How about pointing DomainNames.com at your blog for a week or so
@Frank
I like the way you’re thinking.
I am never surprised at the tremendous potential many companies sit on. Checking trademarks and patents from existing companies shows many products and ideas that never see the light of day for so many reasons. I’m surprised the giant that is Network Solutions was able to respond so quickly. Kudos for the find.
guess it should be getting good number of typein traffic with a high looker to buyer conversion rates as newbies wanting to register their first domain name are the ones who is likely to visit the site
I ran into a similar situation with them. About 2 years ago I had to tell them that NetSol.com was not resolving…for over 3 weeks. How much lost traffic there as well? Cheers.
